Climate on the Move

In Singapore, a high level of heat and air moisture co-exists with hyper air-conditioned indoor areas provoking a body heat shock.

Based on this observation, we tried to maximize our bodies natural capacity for adaptation to manage comfortable temperature change. We considered two iconic objects of Singapore, a businessman shirt and an umbrella to cool down by ventilating the body. The shirt has a pleated plastron which expands when pulling on it, allowing air to flow through little aeration holes. The umbrella protects from heavy rains and, as locals use it, from sun. When turning its handle, textile fins create a refreshing breeze.
