Scan & Pay for 7-Eleven

7-Eleven came to IDEO to improve the shopping experience and accelerate the check out process for customers and sales associates in stores.

Scan & Pay is a new level of convenience at 7-Eleven, that allows customers to skip the traditional check out line, creates a more playful shopping experience, and more meaningful service from Sales Associates.
The digital experience is supplemented by a tangible totem. It is composed of three flexible modules: a vertical poster sign, a barcode scanner, and a bag station. The last step of the experience, it acts as a final check in and gives reassurance to both sales associates and customers that their purchase has been successfully completed.
